Border security IS national security. That is a message […]

Border security IS national security. That is a message Janet Napolitano does not seem to understand. We have made that case in a mailer and in this new TV ad. Please forward this to everyone and ask them to view it before they vote!
Janet Napolitano and her aides have attacked me for this ad — but yesterday I received an unsolicited email from a man whose brother was killed in the World Trade Center tower that we depicted in the mailer. Here is part of what he said:

I truly appreciate Mr. Munsil’s support with the 9-11 Memorial and I’m doing everything I can to let friends, family and coworkers know what the right choice is for Governor!
I recently received the ad with the plane about to crash into tower two of the World Trade Center (my brother’s building) and I thought it was a poignant and important message for people to remember and understand just how important some of these issues are for all of us. If Mr Munsil would like a family member to respond to the ad, I’d be glad to show my support and explain how that image could and should be the last one like it we will ever see, unless we let our guard down and terrorists roam freely through out our nation.

And reminds us all that we are at war with people who have come here illegally and would love to use American identification to kill more of us.

Halloween is just around the corner, and Janet Napolitano’s spokesperson thinks it is “horrifying” that I would point out that her boss supported drivers’ licenses for illegal immigrants.
And that Hani Hanjour, one of the 9-11 terrorists, had an Arizona drivers’ license.
I think it is “horrifying” that the Governor of our state, less than two years after 9-11, would think so little of our security that she would “happily” sign a bill that would make it easier for potential terrorists to rent cars and board airplanes.
Now that’s scary.

We held a press conference today highlighting the reality that I have a plan to secure our borders that will save Arizona taxpayers billions of dollars. By contrast, Janet Napolitano has done nothing for four years, has no current plan to secure the border, and doesn’t even believe it is possible.
Some Janet Napolitano staffers were there, one of them wearing a gargantuan cat costume and holding a sign. The purpose of the cat costume escapes me; a giant chicken costume might be a better fit for Napolitano supporters given her refusal to keep her promise for a third gubernatorial debate.
But the cat creature was holding a sign on which the word “immigration” was misspelled. If she can’t spell immigration, how can we expect her to do anything about it? Then I remembered that under Janet Napolitano’s leadership we have become last in the nation in education.
And suddenly it all made sense.

Our message that Janet Napolitano’s mediocre reco […]

Our message that Janet Napolitano’s mediocre record as Governor does not entitle her to a second term is beginning to resonate with Arizonans, including some in the media. The Prescott Courier, generally considered a moderate to liberal publication, has endorsed me for Governor.
The editorial correctly points out that Napolitano has been more “show than substance” in dealing with border issues, and tells voters that I “deserve a chance to fix problems that have gone unattended far too long.”
My thanks to the Courier for recognizing that I will “take responsibility when others won’t.” We have great support in Yavapai County, and this should help.

Thank you to the hundreds of loud and enthusiastic, red-clad Munsil supporters who showed up in Tucson last night in support of our campaign! You took away Janet Napolitano’s expected advantage and made it clear I have lots of support in southern Arizona!
Once again Janet Napolitano had no answers for her failed record on immigration and education, and reiterated her support for taxes and increased government spending. I was able to point out that our problems in education, health care and crime are affected by her failure to secure our border with Mexico.
You can watch the debate here and read about it here.

I support Congressional efforts to put a security fence […]

I support Congressional efforts to put a security fence or wall at the border. Janet Napolitano can’t make up her mind.
First, she mocked the notion of a fence with her infamous “show me a 50-foot wall, I’ll show you a 51-foot ladder” comment.
Then she invited herself to a photo-op with President Bush when he signed a bill that provided funding for the fence she had mocked. In fact, Sen. Ted Kennedy quoted Napolitano in opposing the bill the President was signing.
Now, after getting the photo-op she wanted to convince Republicans she is “tough” on the border, she has admitted that if she had been in Congress, she would have voted against the border wall.
Are you dizzy yet? If so, vote for me. Agree or disagree, you’ll always know where I stand. And I won’t be straddling the fence, or hopping back and forth over it like our current Governor.

That was Janet Napolitano’s response tonight in our first debate when asked about whether Arizonans should support efforts to make English our official language and to stop benefits from going to illegal aliens.
I want to encourage you to view the debate HERE.
Once again she defended her lack of action to secure our border and pointed the finger of blame at Washington.
Today a panel of the liberal 9th Circuit Court of Appeals voted to overturn key provisions of Prop 200, which was overwhelmingly supported by Arizona voters.
Once again, unelected judges — with the support of our Governor — are overturning the will of the people.

Tomorrow President Bush is expected to sign a bill providing funding for security fencing along our southern border, something I strongly support.
In attendance will be our state’s current governor, Janet Napolitano, who has mocked the notion of a border wall.
I’m guessing she won’t remind the President or the media about her famous, ‘Show me a 50-foot wall, I’ll show you a 51-foot ladder,” statement.
But we won’t let her forget. Especially since Sen. Ted Kennedy quoted her on that very point on the Senate floor last week during the debate over the bill being signed by the President.
