Here begins the first real 21st century political campaign. For the duration of my campaign for Governor I will be posting updates to this weblog, a central part of the new web design you see. What’s new about that, you ask? Simply this – these updates will be timely, hopefully interesting, but most importantly for you, the voter – written by the actual candidate, uncensored and unfiltered. That’s right – no low-level political hack sitting in a basement writing the usual tedious, safe and boring campaign talking points. (My apologies to low-level political hacks everywhere.)
Instead it will be me, Len Munsil, actual candidate for Governor, sitting in a basement (or a Starbucks) writing these updates, and trying to avoid all the usual tedious, safe and boring campaign talking points.
So welcome to this experiment in 21st century democracy. As a former print journalist, welcome to the new media! I actually think by checking back regularly on this website, you’ll learn a lot more about who I am, what I believe, and what I would do as Governor than you would through typical 20th century campaign techniques. Because I care what you think, I want to be able to connect to you more directly by using the new media.
