When a 75-year-old Safeway worker is taken hostage within a few miles of your home you tend to notice. The gunman was shot and killed. In an era of meth-induced fatal auto accidents and abandoned children, you don’t often hear the argument any more that illegal drugs are a “victimless crime.” Many of the drugs that flow into our neighborhoods come through our porous southern border – just one more reason the state of Arizona must take action to secure the border. A friend of the gunman offers this comment:
I knew he did something that was real wrong,but he was a good guy. Drugs do bad things to good people.
