SENIOR MOMENT

My little girl who wore a red dress with a matching ribbon in her hair and sat through an entire “lunch date with Dad” on her 4th birthday smiling sweetly but without saying a word … is preparing to graduate from high school next month. Last night was “senior night,” on the high school softball field, after four years as a starter at shortstop, many awards and a state championship with her teammates. Straight-A student, college scholarships beckoning, and after helping on my campaign the poor kid wants to study journalism. We’re very proud.
Parents of little ones, enjoy every moment. Life comes at you fast.
POSTSCRIPT: As if I wasn’t feeling wistful enough, my wife and I go to a charity fundraiser last night and who’s performing? First, my oldest daughter sings with her school choir, and later, Bob Carslile sings “Butterfly Kisses” the famous father-daughter wedding tearjerker! Not ready for that yet.
