DEBATES: I’M FORUM

Last night we had our first and perhaps only televised “debate,” which aired on PBS statewide. I was able to distinguish my background and experience in public policy that has led us to receive so many endorsements and to qualify for the ballot and for funding in record time. By contrast, my primary opponents have shown no organizational or fundraising ability, and not one of them has ever done anything in the policy arena prior to running for Governor. We received decent media coverage, and many people have been calling and emailing their support all day.
As happens so often, the “debate” was more of a “forum” designed to give each candidate an equal opportunity to respond to the same questions. Having been through dozens of these, it would be much more interesting to allow us to actually debate each other. What do you think?
