The first general election gubernatorial debate, moderated by Show Low Mayor Rick Fernau, took place yesterday in Navajo County. Libertarian candidate Barry Hess and I participated in front of local residents, newspaper reporters and a cable TV audience of tens of thousands.
As you can see from this photo, only Janet Napolitano did not feel like it was worthwhile to stand before voters in rural Arizona and discuss her plans for Arizona’s future.
Barry Hess and I have agreed to 10 debates all over Arizona, not just on university campuses in major metro areas. We remain hopeful that Janet Napolitano will be willing to show up at future debates.
