Today Tracy and I attended the funeral of former House Speaker Jeff Groscost.
I met Jeff in the pro-life, pro-family movement before he was in the legislature. He was the sponsor of the bill I drafted in 1996 defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. He was instrumental in dozens of pro-life, pro-family victories including parental consent for abortion.
He was an amazing political strategist and had a zeal to improve life in his beloved Arizona.
But I was always most impressed with Jeff’s commitment to his own family. That commitment was evident today as several of his children described their love for their father.
Today, political victories and defeats were insignificant.
Our prayers and sympathies go out to Dana and the Groscost children.
