A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE

Today we pause and reflect.
I had a chance to watch President Bush at the site of the Pennsylvania plane crash, as “Amazing Grace” was played. I was reminded of the way patriotism and prayer broke out spontaneously five years ago when our nation was attacked.
Today is a chance not only to remember the sacrifices and the heroes of 9-11, but also the brave men and women in our armed forces who answered the call to defend America against a new enemy.
It is a reminder to all of us that we are still a nation at war. Determined enemies of freedom still plan to come here and kill Americans. On this 5th anniversary of 9-11, we must resolve to continue praying, planning and preparing for the battles that are yet to come.
