MEETINGS

One of the great things about campaigning for office is that you get to meet lots of great people. That starts with the hundreds of volunteers on our campaign team, the folks who invite friends to house parties, and the wonderful Republican leaders and workers around the state. This week I’ve been at forums in Sun City and will be at another tonight in Maricopa, and yesterday had a chance to meet with community leaders and a Republican Club in Prescott.
Some of the most interesting meetings are with those who have already committed to other candidates, or who are unable to endorse anyone. For example, today I met with leaders of the fire fighters union, who are already committed to another candidate but were kind enough to sit with me so I can hear about their issues and concerns.
And yesterday my wife and I were blessed to be able to meet with Bishop Thomas Olmsted of Phoenix. Of course he cannot be engaged in partisan politics, but it was wonderful to re-introduce ourselves to him and hear his heart for our community.
