Last day of 2007 and it’s time for those last-minute tax credit donations! Here are some suggestions for ways you can take advantage of Arizona’s unique tax credits that allow you to decide how a portion of your taxes are spent. You can make a 2007 donation on-line until midnight Monday:
Arizona Christian School Tuition Organization. One of the largest organizations that provides scholarships for students to attend private schools. You can receive a dollar for dollar tax credit for donations up to $1,000 per couple and $500 per individual.
Neighborhood Ministries. Fantastic organization that works with the poor in inner city Phoenix. You can receive a dollar for dollar tax credit for donations up to $400 per couple and $200 per individual.
Your local public school. You can receive a dollar for dollar credit for donations to public schools up to $400 per couple and $200 per individual. You have to donate directly to the school. The link above takes you to a Department of Education website that allows you to search for a public school in your area.
