So here we were, one vote away from undoing decades of liberal judicial activism through one more conservative appointment to the United States Supreme Court. One vote away from undoing the constitutional abomination of Roe v. Wade – a horrific precedent with no basis in the law, which stands as a symbol for many other cases of judicial activism in social policy, criminal rights and foreign policy.
And then came Tuesday.
Never thought I’d be praying for the health and stamina of Justices John Paul Stevens, David Souter and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Hang in there guys!
